Good for the Gander Dept.
A new low point for America

It’s seems like only yesterday Chester and I sat down at Rudz to embark on a journey that would change our lives - or at least provide some kind of rationale for the amount of time we spent dicking around at work. We owe it all to you, disenchanted American youth. Without you guys, we wouldn’t occupy such a visible position on the D list. We. Are. So. Fucking. Proud.

Girl Bling

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

I recently discovered a budding friend of mine knows the “brains” behind purseblog.com. Apparently, this girl blogger pulls down $80k a year while her sole contribution to the world is not-so-witty comments about threading and buckles. So, in the spirit of getting ad revenue to make this site better, here’s a self-evident observation about fashion:

girlbling

Girl bling is huge, huuuuge in Asia. I saw girls selling produce in dusty towns on the Thai-Burma border sporting diamond playboy bunny logos on chains at the perfect bust-dangling length. While it’s fascinating to pick out foreign fashion amidst the slipstream of global pop culture, we’ve got to step it up, U.S.A.

In the name of patriotism, put some sparkle in your cleavage. For God and Country.

The Capitolist is a brand new, hot-looking, anonymous messageboard for hill staffers. We’ll be bored of it by next week, but for right now it’s kind of funny.

Talking Dirty to Power
Jessica Cutler Files for Bankruptcy

Friday, June 1st, 2007

cutler2.jpgSaw this on Gawker a little while ago. It looks like Jessica “Washingtonienne” Cutler, sex blogger and, well, prostitute, has filed for bankruptcy. I burned through my advance pretty fast when I signed my book deal, so I can only imagine how quickly her measly $300,000 lasted. Plus, that was all back in 2005, anyway. If you want to talk to her about what she’s up to now, you can pop by the Waldorf-Astoria in downtown DC, she’s apparently hanging out in the lobby, hoing it up.

Update: Miss Cutler has pointed out that there is only one Waldorf-Astoria, and it’s in New York. How the fuck am I supposed to know that? I’m not even wearing pants most of the time. I also feel bad for calling her a ho as I was assuming nobody reads this. I will try to be less of a misogynist in the future though I’m guessing she doesn’t give a shit.

Dept. of Overdue Apologies
We are back

Friday, June 1st, 2007

We haven’t posted anything in a really long time and we’re sorry about this. Much has been going on in the lives of your Culture Warriors - from graduations and new jobs to new love interests and a couple of break ups. As your editor in chief, I’m proud to report that I’ve started contributing twice daily to Wonkette, the gold-standard of blogs such as this one. Molly has recently begun working for ABC news and Annie is getting ready to move… somewhere. Chester is doing his thing in Houston for an evil corporation but may soon have a new job relevant to his particular field of interest and as for Mia, Jeff and Josh, well, we all live together now and they basically have no excuse except for that I generate a whole lot of dirty dishes.

But in any event, we’re back. I will try my damnedest to keep this thing going with the kind of profanity-ridden nonsense you’ve come to expect from us.

It’s TV, but like, on the internet

Branded!

If you’re anything like us, that means you’re in the middle of finals and obviously need something to keep you from getting your work done. Luckily, TV Links has the answer. It’s every episode of every television program ever, streaming and on demand. Who need a tv? Nobody, that’s who.

A World Among Worlds

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Our very own Miss Annie Gardner and some others have started a site called A World Among Worlds, which is actually part of an social anthro independent study. Head on over there and check it out, it’s pretty interesting.
