Senate criminalizes pretexting, which is not terrorst surveillance

The Senate voted to outlaw pretexting, which is the name given to looking at someone’s phone records without their permission. This New York Times article talks about how this comes in the wake of the HP spying scandal blah blah blah are we the only ones who remember that the NSA is listening to our phone calls and reading our email? I mean, we hate to beat that stupid, paranoid, liberal drum. But come on. How can anyone take this shit seriously?
